Commercial & Industrial Water Tanks

About this Tank

Tankworks steel commercial water tanks can be customised to suit your application. You can select the material, including heavy gauge coated steel and copper, the exact capacity required, and place fittings in the best locations to minimise piping and on-site work.

Tankworks will help you to solve on-site detention problems by creating a water storage tank with detention capabilities. This solution can save money and time when compared to underground alternatives.

Tankworks can manufacture made-to-measure copper tanks for hot and cold water storage. Tanks can be finished on-site to allow for difficult access. Custom outlets and flanges are available, as well as conical lids and drip trays.

Tankworks can supply made-to-measure first flush water diverters for large rainwater harvesting applications. First flush water diverters up to 1000L can be supplied.

Selecting the right Tank

One

Choose the largest tank that will fit into your available area.

Direct as much of your roof area as practical into your tank.

Two

Normal garden hosing can use up to 1000 litres per hour of water.

A 5000 litre water tank will therefore provide around 5 hours of watering time. Make sure the capacity of your tank will suit your water use requirements.

Three

One square metre of roof area will provide one litre of water for every millimetre of rain.

Maximising the roof area feeding  your tank is the best way to ensure you collect as much water as possible.

Four

Be aware that every 1000 litres of water in your tank is one tonne of mass.

Considering the location of your tank, be sure not to place the tank in an area with unstable ground or too close to existing house footings. Refer to our data sheet.

Five

Remember that you will need to access the leaf strainer to clean out leaves.

This may be a consideration when deciding the height and location of your tank.
