Findon Primary School gets a Raingarden

The local councillor, Frank Merlino, came to cut the ribbon on a brand new Tankworks raingarden, courtesy of the City of Whittlesea and the Darebin Creek Management Committee.

Through a government grant, Darebin Creek Management Commitee has managed to fund the supply and installation of over 70 raingardens in the City of Whittlesea area.

Tankworks raingardens provide a neat and elegant way to help control stormwater runoff during heavy rainfall events.  The gardens are filled with aggregate and native plants, and help to slow the flow of stormwater as well as remove some of pollutants that otherwise end up in our waterways.
