Selandra Community Place now open

Located in the City of Casey within the Selandra Rise residential community, Selandra Community Place is a unique and innovative community place where health and wellbeing meets environment.

Selandra Community Place provides residents with sustainability information, access to health and wellbeing activities and a small business centre as soon as they move in, along with promoting opportunities for residents to meet and connect with their neighbours.

The Australian-first concept has been developed and implemented by City of Casey, Stockland, Henley Properties Group and the South East Councils Climate Change Alliance (SECCCA).

Showcasing the cornerstones of sustainable living including ways to save water, decrease energy use, minimise waste and improve wellbeing, Selandra Community Place demonstrates simple ways to save money and improve health and wellbeing.

The project uses a number of initiatives to acheive the 8 star rating.  A 6000L Tankworks steel slimline rainwater tank captures water from the roof to be reused in the laundry and toilets in the house.  They have estimate annual water savings up to 80,000L by using this system.
