why choose tankworks?

When looking for a water tank you have many options available to you. Steel and polyethylene are the most common followed by fibreglass, concrete and now PVC bladder tanks.

Each material type has its strengths and weaknesses but we believe the modern steel tank has the best features of all tanks currently available. Here’s why........

Strength of steel
Steel tanks do not bulge or stretch when full. The strength of steel means the tanks comfortably hold the large forces generated by tonnes of water. Steel tanks have been around for more than 100 years so the structural long life is a proven fact. In addition this strength will not deteriorate over time under the harsh Australian sun as with other materials.

Long life
In the early days steel tanks where just plain galvanised steel and after many years could begin to rust from the inside. This is a thing of the past with modern tank steel which has a long life polymer coating. This polymer coating is on the inside of the tank walls and on both sides of the base (inside and out). The water never touches the steel and now the tanks carry a 20 year warranty against corrosion! The strength of steel and the longevity of polymer coating.........best of both worlds.

Style and elegance
The steel tank not only looks traditional and Australian but it is less bulky than other alternatives. This is especially noticeable in the slimline format where polyethylene tanks typically are much larger for the same capacity due to moulded cross strengthen taking away from storage capacity. The same applies for the round tank where the flatter roof structure means more water right to the top of the tank compared to the unused air gap in the domed roofed plastic tanks.

Once you have decided that steel is the way to go here’s why we think that you should only use a tank manufactured by Tankworks Australia

Made to measure (at no extra cost)
That’s right any size you like. Our unique manufacturing setup means we can make the tank any size you like at a price the same as others charge for a pre made tank. Don’t be forced to take the standard size. Use our unique Sizealator system to design your own tank to match your needs.

True deep corrugations
At Tankworks Australia we are very proud of our in house roll forming operation and the fact we produce the true deep corrugated profile for our tanks. The traditional deep profile ensures maximum strength when compared to some modern low profile spiral style tanks

Extra Wide sheets
Our in house roll forming operation produces an extra wide 14 corrugation sheet. While others need to use 3 sheets to manufacture the typical 1800 tall tank we do it in two. This makes for a stronger tank with less seams.

Assembly methods
We employ industry leading assembly techniques including Henrob self piercing riveting system and CNC controlled lock seaming. We have blended these modern systems with our long proven tank making experience. There are still some guarded “tricks of the trade” which will ensure a well finished and long lasting tank is produced.

Experience
Tankworks Australia (formally Parramatta Tankworks) has been building tanks since 1934. Click to read more about our history.

Warranty
Our warranty is the best in the industry. 20 years corrosion warranty and a full 10 year construction warranty. Check out the others and you will be surprised.
